Softball Recap: Tolsia Has No Trouble Against Grace Christian

Tolsia's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They blew past Grace Christian 14-3. That looming 14-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Rebels yet this season.

Kalynn Salmons made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 15 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits. Those 15 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, Madison Meddings was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Emily Marcum also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

The win got Tolsia back to even at 6-6. As for Grace Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Tolsia has already played their next match, a 14-3 victory against Martin County on the 18th. As for Grace Christian, they will welcome Green at 5:30 p.m. on the 24th.
