Recap: Resurrection Catholic Eagles vs. French Camp Academy Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Resurrection Catholic Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past French Camp Academy with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Resurrection Catholic also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2017.
Resurrection Catholic's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Daniel Pickens, who rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Schnoor, who threw for 192 yards and a touchdown on only 11 passes.
When it comes to explaining why French Camp Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Avery Summers. Despite the final result, he rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Summers really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Resurrection Catholic's win bumped their record up to 9-2. As for French Camp Academy, they have yet to win a match on the road this season, leaving them with a 3-8 record.
Resurrection Catholic will face off against West Tallahatchie at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. French Camp Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
