Softball Game Preview: Cary Academy Chargers vs. Franklin Academy Patriots

The Cary Academy Chargers will head out to square off against the Franklin Academy Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Cary Academy after they put the first run on the board on Thursday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They came up short against North Raleigh Christian Academy, falling 18-8. While the Chargers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Knights 4-0 in the first period.

Meanwhile, Franklin Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They lost 10-0 to Vance Charter. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Patriots' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Cary Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Franklin Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-11.

Cary Academy might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Franklin Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Chargers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
