Volleyball Game Preview: Berea-Midpark Titans vs. Elyria Pioneers

The Berea-Midpark Titans will head out to face off against the Elyria Pioneers at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Thursday, Berea-Midpark came up short against Olmsted Falls and fell 3-1. While the Titans didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-21 in the first set.

Berea-Midpark started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-12, 25-19, 25-16.

Capri Brennan put forth a good effort for the losing side as she had 17 digs and four assists. She has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last three times she's played.

Meanwhile, Elyria was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They came up short against Midview, falling 3-0.

Elyria was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 25-23, 25-13.

Berea-Midpark's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Elyria, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-17.

Everything went Berea-Midpark's way against Elyria in their previous matchup back in September, as Berea-Midpark made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
