Fairbury extended their winning streak to 12 on Saturday, bumping them up to 16-5. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Raymond Central Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-1 two weeks ago.

Evelyn Timmons paced Fairbury's offense, picking up 21 kills. Timmons got some help from Taryn Hinman and her 41 assists. Micah Friesen controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

As for Raymond Central, they now have a losing record of 10-11. Their defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Raymond Central's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Willa Van Boening, who had four digs and two aces.

Fairbury has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against York on the 4th. As for Raymond Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Westview on the 4th.
