Softball Game Preview: Logansport Tigers vs. Oakdale Warriors

The Logansport Tigers will head out to take on the Oakdale Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Logansport and Northwood have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Gators with a sharp 11-1 win. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 games by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Brooklyn Horton, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Logansport lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

Meanwhile, Oakdale hadn't done well against Jennings recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Warriors came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 9-6.

Jolie West made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off 12 hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Payton Jones was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Madison Sumbler, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

Oakdale has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Logansport, their record is now 18-10.
