Baseball Recap: Elcho Comes Up Short

Elcho lost to Crandon back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hornets lost 14-2 to the Cardinals. The contest marked the Hornets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Weston Carlson made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Braydn Bricko, who earned one RBI and two stolen bases.

This is the second loss in a row for Elcho and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Crandon, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Elcho is set to challenge their familiar foe Three Lakes/Phelps at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Crandon will face off against rival Florence at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Cardinals 2.3, the Bobcats 3.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
