Basketball Recap: Dakota Indians vs. Aquin Catholic Bulldogs

The Dakota Indians struggled with assists on Friday (the Aquin Catholic Bulldogs had 11 more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Dakota had to suffer through a rough 57-19 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. Dakota was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 33-8.

Dakota's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Finley Banks, who scored eight points along with five rebounds and three steals. Banks has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played.

Aquin Catholic found their leader in underclassman Paityn London, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. London is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hanna Broge, who scored 17 points along with two steals.

Dakota's loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-17. As for Aquin Catholic, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dakota will take on the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquin Catholic, they will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lena-Winslow is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
