Baseball Recap: Cobden Comes Up Short

Cobden's last matchup with Century could've gone either way, but unfortunately the same can't be said for the pair's matchup on Wednesday. The Appleknockers came up short against the Centurions, falling 14-3. The Appleknockers haven't had much luck with the Centurions recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Cobden saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Howell, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Cobden's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Century, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Coming up, Cobden will look to defend their home field on Friday against Meridian at 4:30 p.m. The Appleknockers are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Century, they will head out to challenge Agape Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Centurions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season.
