Volleyball Recap: Joplin Eagles vs. Republic Tigers
Joplin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Republic Tigers. The Eagles were not able to make up for their defeat to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.
While Joplin was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-15, 25-14.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Republic to victory, but perhaps none more so than Bria Claxton, who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Claxton has posted since back in October of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Pullan, who had 12 assists and seven digs.
Joplin's loss dropped their record down to 1-18-1. As for Republic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-10-1 record this season.
Joplin will look to defend their home court on Monday against Rogers at 2:00 p.m. As for Republic, they will head out to square off against Kickapoo at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
