Softball Game Preview: Saint Jo Panthers vs. Chico Dragons

The Saint Jo Panthers will take on the Chico Dragons at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Saint Jo came up short against Era on Monday, falling 16-1. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Hornets: they've now lost seven in a row.

Meanwhile, Chico came up short against Gainesville on Monday and fell 9-4. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Addyson Sides spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and six unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 14 Ks. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in strikeouts.

On the hitting side, Lexi Davis was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.
