Softball Game Preview: Fleming County Panthers vs. Campbell County Camels

The Fleming County Panthers will face off against the Campbell County Camels at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Campbell County took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fleming County, who comes in off a win.

Fleming County's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. Everything went their way against West Carter as they made off with a 14-0 win. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Comets recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Courtney Doyle made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. Doyle was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that she has hit this season.

In other batting news, Brynlee Black was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mackenzie McGlone, who went 2-for-5 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Fleming County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Cooper hit Campbell County with a four-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Camels took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Jaguars. The Camels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Campbell County's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Fleming County, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.
