Basketball Recap: Highland Wins High-Profile Match Against Alta

On Tuesday, Highland faced Alta in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Highland Rams took down the Alta Hawks 64-50. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-56 back in January.

Highland got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Isaiah Drisdom out in front who went 6 of 9 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Drisdom now owns an excellent 40.3% three-point shooting accuracy. Another player making a difference was Soren Ries, who went 6 for 10 to rack up 15 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks.

Drisdom wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Highland was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Alta only racked up five assists.

Despite the loss, Alta still got an impressive performance from Dash Reiser, who went 11 of 27 en route to 29 points and four steals. That's the most steals Reiser has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Mckea, who put up eight points and eight rebounds.

Highland has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Alta, their record now sits at 15-6.

Highland has already played their next game, a 52-37 victory against East on the 7th. As for Alta, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 61-58 win against Olympus on the 7th.
