Basketball Game Preview: Monument Valley Cougars vs. Escalante Moquis

The Monument Valley Cougars will take on the Escalante Moquis at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Monument Valley has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 7.

Monument Valley is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Green River on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Monument Valley was dealt a 114-29 loss at the hands of Green River. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 61-8.

Meanwhile, Escalante was beaten by Piute 77-40 on Wednesday. The Moquis were down 59-35 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Escalante's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Monument Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Monument Valley might still be hurting after the 73-51 defeat they got from Escalante when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Monument Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
