Basketball Recap: Davenport Central Comes Up Short

Davenport Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 62-53 to the Clinton River Kings. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blue Devils came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the River Kings are ranked 286th).

Davenport Central's loss dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Clinton, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-21.

Davenport Central will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Central Clinton at 7:30 p.m. on March 7th. Clinton does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
