Basketball Recap: El Dorado Cougars vs. Woodcreek Timberwolves
After flying high against Highlands last Saturday, El Dorado came back down to earth. The El Dorado Cougars came up short against the Woodcreek Timberwolves on Thursday, falling 70-49. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 698th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 20th).

Defeat or not, El Dorado got some senior leadership from Logan Baker and Drew Bird. Baker went 9 for 16 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds, while Bird posted 14 points and three steals. The game was Baker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Garrett, who put up nine points.
