Basketball Game Preview: Freeport Pretzels vs. Dixon Dukes & Duchesses

The Freeport Pretzels will venture away from home to face off against the Dixon Dukes & Duchesses at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Saturday, Freeport came up short against Crystal Lake South and fell 75-63. While losing is never fun, the Pretzels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while the Gators are ranked 63rd).

Meanwhile, Dixon waltzed into their contest on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 54-45 victory over the Indians.

Dixon has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for Freeport, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Freeport lost to Dixon on the road by a decisive 71-53 margin when the teams last played back in January of 2019. Can Freeport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
