Basketball Recap: Rancho Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Rancho couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Spanish Springs Cougars on Friday. The Rams have been going strong on the season, but this is now their second loss in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Spanish Springs to victory, but perhaps none more so than Travis Lee, who went 6-for-15 en route to 20 points. Another player making a difference was Owen Hensley, who almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards.

Rancho's defeat dropped their record down to 22-7. As for Spanish Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 20 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-4 record this season.

Rancho does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Spanish Springs, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sierra Vista at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Sierra Vista sitting on four straight wins and Spanish Springs on 17.
