Baseball Recap: Rochester Wins Going Away Against Elwood

Rochester had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 17-5 on Saturday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Elwood Panthers with a sharp 15-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Zebras, who have now won ten matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Parker Casper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits he has posted over his last 11 games.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brant Beck, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Brady Coleman also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Rochester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Elwood only managed one hit.

As for Elwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 18 of their last 19 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-23 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

On Elwood's side, Bracken Jetty was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one run.

Coming up, Rochester will welcome Whitko at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Elwood, they will venture away from home to challenge Twin Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Indians will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
