Basketball Recap: Hagerstown Drops Highest Score of Season Against Cambridge City Lincoln

Hagerstown scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles by a score of 51-48. The Tigers were not able to make up for their defeat to the Golden Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Hagerstown saw an underclassman step up: freshman Mackenzee Johnson went 6 for 10 en route to 19 points and six boards. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Johnson has scored all season. Skylar Brown was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hagerstown was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2023.

Hagerstown dropped their record down to 1-16 with the defeat, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 4-13 record.

Hagerstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 62-6 loss against Franklin County on the 18th. As for Cambridge City Lincoln, they will square off against Knightstown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
