Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Wesleyan Christian Academy turned things around against Oak Grove on Saturday. They came out on top against the Grizzlies by a score of 8-5.

The team relied heavily on Cole Bowman, who scored a run while going 3-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Thompson Holloway, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Wesleyan Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Covenant Day took on High Point Christian Academy on Saturday. Covenant Day came out on top in a nail-biter against High Point Christian Academy, sneaking past 5-3.

Zeb Engstrom was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season.

Wesleyan Christian Academy's record now sits at 2-5. As for Covenant Day, their record is now 3-1.

Wesleyan Christian Academy took their win against Covenant Day in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 9-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wesleyan Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
