Baseball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Lake Havasu's Winning Streak

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lake Havasu can now relate to. They lost 14-4 to the Catalina Foothills Falcons on Saturday. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Knights, who until this matchup were averaging 3.81 runs allowed.

Deegan Cross was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Cross wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brock Cross, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

With the loss, Lake Havasu broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 18-9. As for Catalina Foothills, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 15 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season.

Lake Havasu does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Catalina Foothills, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 13-0 victory against Cienega on the 5th.
