Basketball Recap: Grandview's Loss Ends Six-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Grandview lost against St. Teresa's Academy back in March of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The contest between the Grandview Bulldogs and the St. Teresa's Academy Stars didn't end well, with the Grandview Bulldogs falling 55-38. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 166th, while the Stars are ranked 14th).

Grandview lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jada Smith, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 16 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Taniya Cruthird, who posted 11 points and four steals.

St. Teresa's Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Addi Moylan led the charge by going 5 for 10 en route to 14 points and three steals. Moylan is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Mabel Bland also deserves some recognition as she grabbed her first steal of the season.

Grandview's defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 7-6. As for St. Teresa's Academy, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 9-3.

Grandview wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 73-12 victory against Winnetonka on the 23rd. As for St. Teresa's Academy, they will face off against Pembroke Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
