Baseball Game Preview: Fort LeBoeuf Bison vs. McDowell Trojans

Fort LeBoeuf is 0-10 against McDowell since May of 2018 but things could change on Wednesday. The Bison will look to defend their home field against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Fort LeBoeuf has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Fort LeBoeuf lost 13-1 to Cathedral Prep on Monday. The match marked the Bison's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Fort LeBoeuf saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Grady Matkovich, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Matkovich also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Meanwhile, McDowell came tearing into Monday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Bulldogs.

Ethan Bechtold tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Jake Hower was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Joey Stephan was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

This is the second loss in a row for Fort LeBoeuf and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for McDowell, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
