League recap: New Deal extends winning streak with victory over Farwell

Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A-1 Region I District 2 this week, New Deal beat Farwell 47-14,. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Lions.

New Deal moved up to 264 from 372 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Ron Mayo's team was able to move up by defeating the Steers 47-14.

Tahoka's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Bulldogs feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Tristan Hilger has thrown for 262 yards and 4 touchdowns this season, while Kordell Baker has 6 catches for 130 yards. Hilger also leads the league in rushing with 333 yards.

The Lions took down Farwell 47-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
