Baseball Recap: Jackson-Olin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Indian Springs on Tuesday, Jackson-Olin came back down to earth. The Mustangs lost 17-2 to the Huffman Vikings on Friday. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in April of 2025.

Wylam Wright made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Wright is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Darrien Burts, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Jackson-Olin's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Huffman, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-1.

Looking ahead, Jackson-Olin will venture away from home to challenge Parker at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Thundering Herd have averaged an impressive 11.3 runs per game this season. As for Huffman, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ramsay at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
