Baseball Game Preview: Downey Knights vs. Modesto Panthers

Downey has gone a perfect 10-0 against Modesto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Downey Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Modesto Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Downey will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

Downey is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Modesto 13-4 on Wednesday.

Isaac Doornewaard made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Doornewaard was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other pitching news, Aidan Cruz looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and not a single walk).

Downey is undefeated when Moore posts two or more runs, but 0-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jayceon Sloan, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
