Basketball Recap: Mitchell Find Success

Mitchell won the last time they faced Crawford, and Kate Pieper did her part to make sure it happened again. The Mitchell Tigers came out on top against the Crawford Rams by a score of 47-37 on Tuesday thanks in part to Pieper, who posted 11 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Keslyn Vogel, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds. Crawford is 5-2 when Vogel posts eight or more boards, but 0-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Tianna Clark, who scored 11 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Mitchell back to even at 6-6. As for Crawford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Mitchell has already played their next contest (against Torrington), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Crawford will square off against Hemingford at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
