It was a good run, but the Rocky Mountain Lobos unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Mountain View. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Rocky Mountain has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Rocky Mountain lost, one person who can't be blamed is Sara Chicco. Despite the final result, she scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Chicco also pulled down eight rebounds for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Morgen Delap, who scored 12 points.
It was another big night for Addison Branscum, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and six assists for Mountain View. The game was Branscum's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Madison Keil was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Rocky Mountain's loss dropped their record down to 4-1. As for Mountain View, their win was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rocky Mountain will square off against ThunderRidge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (ThunderRidge is ranked 64th, while Rocky Mountain is ranked 39th). Mountain View is on the road again on Tuesday and play against Severance at 5:30 p.m. on December 12th. Severance is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
