Football Recap: Northridge Jaguars vs. Brookwood Panthers
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against McAdory, Northridge was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Brookwood Panthers 52-12 on the road. That 40 point margin sets a new team best for the Jaguars this season.
A big part of Northridge's victory came down to the chemistry between Rowdy Christensen and his top target Mayson Elam. Christensen threw for 206 yards and three touchdowns while completing 85.7% of his passes while Elam gained 185 total yards and three touchdowns. What's more, Christensen also racked up 47 rushing yards, the mosthe's had since back in September of 2023. Northridge also got a significant boost from Magnus Greimel, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 111 yards.
Northridge wouldn't let Brookwood keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Northridge can thank Miller Arendale and Devin Brown for forcing both of them. Arendale has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northridge was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 423 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.
Northridge's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Brookwood, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
