Baseball Game Preview: Goldwater Bulldogs vs. Shadow Mountain Matadors

For the second straight game, Goldwater will face off against Shadow Mountain. The Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Matadors at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. Goldwater will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Goldwater came up short against Shadow Mountain on Tuesday, falling 18-8. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Matadors recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

For Shadow Mountain's part, the team relied heavily on Mario Loya, who went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those six RBI gave Loya a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Rojahn, who scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

The victory snapped Shadow Mountain's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 7-10-1 record. As for Goldwater, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
