Soccer Recap: Carlisle Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

After losing to New Summerfield the last time they met, Carlisle decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Carlisle Indians' defense stepped up to hand the New Summerfield Hornets a 1-0 shutout on Thursday. The Indians wouldn't have won without Sara Garza, who scored the game-winner.

Carlisle's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-3. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three games. As for New Summerfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-7-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Carlisle will venture away from home to face off against Corrigan-Camden at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for New Summerfield, they will head out to square off against Pollok Central at 2:00 p.m. on February 1st.
