Preview: Wilson Wildcats vs. Rowland Raiders
Wilson has enjoyed a six-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will take on the Rowland Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Wilson focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Wilson came up short against Diamond Bar and fell 48-41. Wilson has not had much luck with Diamond Bar recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Despite their defeat, Wilson saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Duncan Quirarte, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quirarte has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Lewis, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Rowland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Los Altos on the road by a decisive 71-57 margin. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Wilson's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-10. Rowland's record now sits at 9-8.
Wilson beat Rowland 80-68 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Does Wilson have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rowland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
