Softball Recap: Apex Comes Up Short

Apex lost against Holly Springs back in April, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cougars took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly four runs.

Leah Kendall was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

This is the second loss in a row for Apex and nudges their season record down to 11-9. As for Holly Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Apex nor Holly Springs have any future games scheduled.
