Baseball Game Preview: Hinkley Thunder vs. Eagle Valley Devils

The Hinkley Thunder are taking a road trip to challenge the Eagle Valley Devils at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hinkley comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hinkley's offense. They lost 16-0 to Northglenn on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Eagle Valley was able to grind out a solid win over Aspen on Tuesday, taking the game 11-7. That's two games straight that the Devils have won by exactly four runs.

Anthony Ehlert was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. Xander DeHerrera was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one double.

Eagle Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Eagle Valley is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.2 runs over those games. As for Hinkley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-13.
