Soccer Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for Sequoyah

It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Sequoyah ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Metro Christian Patriots, sneaking past 7-6. The victory was all the more spectacular given Sequoyah's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma soccer rankings (they are ranked 112th, while Metro Christian are ranked 35th).

Sequoyah's win bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Metro Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Sequoyah wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 1-0 defeat against Cleveland on the 7th. As for Metro Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 0-0 draw against Cookeville on the 3rd.
