Basketball Recap: Halstead Takes a Loss

Halstead played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 67-44 to the Smoky Valley Vikings. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Braylon Olson had a dynamite game for Smoky Valley, going 7-for-11 to rack up 22 points. Olson is becoming a predictor of Smoky Valley's success: when he posts at least 15 points the team is undefeated (and 1-14 when he doesn't). The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Heitschmidt, who went 6-for-9 en route to 16 points and eight boards.

Halstead's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Smoky Valley, with the victory, they broke their seven-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-14.

Halstead wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 53-42 loss against Elyria Christian on the 21st. As for Smoky Valley, they have also already played their next match, a 66-25 defeat against Pratt on the 21st.
