Softball Recap: Mercy Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Mercy finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of the Cheshire Rams by a score of 2-1. The match marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Mercy moved to 7-3 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cheshire, their victory bumped their record up to 12-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will square off against Shelton at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Cheshire, they will challenge Amity Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rams 1.7, the Spartans 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
