Basketball Recap: West Salem Comes Up Short

After flying high against Viroqua on Thursday, West Salem came back down to earth. The West Salem Panthers came up short against the Aquinas Blugolds on Friday, falling 63-40. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Blugolds: they've now lost seven in a row.

It was another big night for Samantha Davis, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 16 rebounds for Aquinas. Davis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Another player making a difference was Emma Dobbins, who posted eight points and three steals.

West Salem's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Aquinas, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

West Salem will face off against Menomonie at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Aquinas, they will head out on the road to face off against Sparta at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
