The Buckfield Bucks will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Telstar Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Buckfield came out on top against Valley on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The Bucks took their game against the Cavaliers 6-1. The Bucks haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Carmen Crockett spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on two hits and racked up 17 Ks.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Sophie St.Pierre, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Brittany Carrier, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Telstar came out on top against Richmond on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run fourth inning. The Rebels sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over the Bobcats.
Cadie Campbell was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Brenna Fraser was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Telstar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .561. The last time their OBP was this high was was before the start of last season.
The win got Telstar back to even at 1-1. As for Buckfield, the victory also got them back to even at 1-1.
Everything went Buckfield's way against Telstar in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, as Buckfield made off with a 10-0 win. Will the Bucks repeat their success, or do the Rebels have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
