Football Recap: Bellmont Drops Season-High Score on New Haven

Bellmont scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They came up short against the New Haven Bulldogs, falling 45-22. If the Braves were looking for revenge after losing 50-9 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Bellmont saw an underclassman step up: freshman Charlie Faurote rushed for 67 yards and two scores, and also threw for 159 yards on 15 of 36 attempts.

Bellmont's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for New Haven, the victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-5.

Bellmont and New Haven could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings. The Braves (ranked 272nd) will meet DeKalb (ranked 66th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, New Haven will take on East Noble at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (179 vs. 27).
