Softball Recap: Sky View Wins Going Away Against Green Canyon

Sky View came into Friday's match having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past the Green Canyon Wolves 11-1 on Friday. That looming 11-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bobcats yet this season.

Avaree Haramoto spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on eight hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last 12 contests.

On the hitting side, Teagan Batt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with five RBI and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Eskelson, who scored three runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

Sky View hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Sky View's victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-7. As for Green Canyon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sky View will face off against Ridgeline at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Green Canyon, they will challenge West Field at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Green Canyon's pitchers better be ready for this one: West Field has averaged an impressive 10.6 runs per game this season.
