Basketball Game Preview: Norcom Greyhounds vs. Manor Mustangs

The Norcom Greyhounds will head out to square off against the Manor Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Friday, Norcom lost to Maury on the road by a 55-39 margin. The matchup marked the Greyhounds' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Manor suffered their biggest defeat since February 7, 2024 on Friday. They had to suffer through a 74-47 loss at the hands of Lake Taylor. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Titans are ranked 29th).

Norcom now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Manor, their loss dropped their record down to 3-9.

Norcom barely slipped by Manor in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, winning 57-56. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Manor's Steve Walton Jr., who posted 27 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Norcom still be able to contain Walton Jr.? There's only one way to find out.
