            Volleyball Recap: Covington Chargers vs. Shelby County Cougars        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Lausanne Collegiate, Covington was happy to have turned things around  on Thursday. They were the clear victors by  a  3-0 margin over Shelby County Cougars. That's more bragging rights for the Chargers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
 The  3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Covington was: they took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-13,  25-7.
 Covington was led to victory by  Kale Wheeler and  Caroline Cole.  Wheeler  had four  digs and four  aces, while  Cole  had four  digs and three  aces. What's more,  Cole also posted a 50%  hitting percentage, which is the highest she's  achieved since back in September of 2024.

Covington's victory was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 10-4. As for Shelby County Cougars, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Covington will venture away from home to  take on Millington Central  at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Shelby County Cougars, they will have a little extra prep time after the  defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lakeland Preparatory at 5:00  p.m.  on  the 25th.
