Soccer Game Preview: Stanhope Elmore vs. Opelika

The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs will challenge the Opelika Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stanhope Elmore took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They came out on top against Calera by a score of 3-1.

Thomas Richardson and Colby Beyer scored all three of Stanhope Elmore's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Meanwhile, Opelika kept a clean sheet against Tallassee on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Tigers as they made off with a 4-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Stanhope Elmore now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Opelika, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Stanhope Elmore took their win against Opelika in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 6-2. Will Stanhope Elmore repeat their success, or does Opelika have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
