Volleyball Recap: Deming Takes a Loss

Deming lost against Santa Teresa last Tuesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats came up short against the Desert Warriors, falling 3-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Deming was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Santa Teresa's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-21, 25-22.

Santa Teresa was led to victory by Avery Garcia and Zuleyma Leon. Garcia had ten digs and five assists, while Leon had five digs and five assists. Garcia is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Deming's loss dropped their record down to 5-15. As for Santa Teresa, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-6 record this season.

Deming does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Santa Teresa, they will face off against Kirtland Central at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday.
