Basketball Recap: Calverton Comes Up Short

Calverton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 50-36 bruising from the Takoma Academy Tigers. While losing is never fun, Calverton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 228th, while Takoma Academy is ranked 81st).

When it comes to explaining why Calverton lost, don't look at Reagan Krukar. Despite the final result, she posted 23 points.

Calverton's loss dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Takoma Academy, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-5.

Calverton has already played their next match, a 44-24 win against Key on the 6th. As for Takoma Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 49-8 victory against Washington Latin Public Charter School on the 6th.
