Soccer Recap: San Diego Comes Up Short

If San Diego was feeling good fresh off their 5-1 takedown of Chula Vista last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The San Diego Cavers lost 4-1 to the St. Augustine Saints on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Cavers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 233rd, while the Saints are ranked 57th).

San Diego's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4. As for St. Augustine, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.

San Diego will head out to take on Point Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Augustine, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against Cathedral Catholic at 3:00 p.m.
