Soccer Game Preview: Palisade vs. Durango

The Palisade Bulldogs will venture away from home to face off against the Durango Demons at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Palisade's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Grand Junction Central with a sharp 7-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Palisade's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Durango). They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Grand Junction Central on Saturday. With that victory, Durango brought their scoring average up to 3.2 goals per game.

Their offense was hitting Grand Junction Central from everywhere, as seven different players booted in a goal. Bella Saren led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for four goals all by herself.

The win (which was Durango's sixth in a row) raised their record to 6-3. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those six games. As for Palisade, their win bumped their record up to 5-2-2.

Palisade suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Durango in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
