Santiam won the last time they faced Culver and things went their way  on Friday too. The Wolverines were the clear victors by  a  15-4 margin over the Bulldogs. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 contests by ten  runs or more this season.
 Boston Flores made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  struck out seven batters over  five innings while giving up just one earned  (and three unearned) runs off   one  hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box,  going 2-for-3 with two  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  Maddie Allen and  Brooke Massey did most of the damage at the plate:  Allen  went 3-for-5 with three  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  Massey  got on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  stolen bases, three  runs,  and one  RBI. Those  three  hits gave  Allen a new career-high.  Haili Hendricks was another key player,  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances with three  runs and one  stolen base.
 Santiam  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .541. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  OBP total in three consecutive  games.
Santiam has  been performing  well recently as they've  won 12 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record  this season. Those  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Culver,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 5-10.
Santiam will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
